The 2025 Big Sister Session was a peer-based gathering designed to connect girls and women in STEM with mentors, role models and each other. It was all about honest conversations, shared experiences and creating a safe, relatable space where no one feels alone in their journey. It was our way of putting the spirit of sisterhood and Ubuntu into action — one story, one connection at a time.

Nicole Jamu

Nicole Jamu, widely known as Queen Nicole, is an award-winning Zimbabwean media personality, voice-over artist and seasoned event host with an illustrious career across television, radio, theatre and red-carpet productions. From anchoring ZBC’s flagship shows like Good Morning Zimbabwe to receiving accolades from Ignite Youth Organisation and Emerging Brands Africa, Nicole has firmly established herself as a powerhouse in media and communication. As the official host of The Big Sister Session, she brings her signature charisma, warmth and authenticity to help guide the conversations, amplify voices and create a safe, inspiring space for every girl to feel seen, heard and celebrated.

At She STEMs, we know the power of peer support, but we also deeply value the experience and insight that comes from those who’ve walked the journey before us. Our Nuggets of Wisdom segment brought together seasoned voices who are not only thriving in their fields but also committed to lifting others as they rise.

Violet Mudzimba

Violet Mudzimba is an award-winning HR professional with 18 years of experience across sectors including public service, transport, manufacturing and revenue. She is the current Human Resources Services Manager at ZINARA and serves on the National Prosecuting Authority Board where she chairs the HR Committee. Violet holds multiple qualifications including, but not limited to, an MSc in HR Management, an MBA (MSU), LLB (UNISA), BSc (Hons) Sociology (UZ). She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Strategic Management with CUT. Her accolades include Best HR Manager – Public Sector (2021) and Platinum Winner for Outstanding HR Professional (2022). At The Big Sister Session, Violet brings a wealth of leadership insight and career wisdom. Her story is a reminder that strategic growth, continuous learning and staying grounded in your values can take you far.

Dr. Chengetayi C. Gumiro, MS.

Dr. Chengetayi Gumiro is a specialist ophthalmologist and founder of a thriving private practice in Francistown, Botswana. Originally from Manicaland, she began her academic journey at St David’s Bonda before earning her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Zimbabwe. After nearly a decade as a general practitioner, she pursued a Masters of Medicine in Ophthalmology and now dedicates her work to restoring sight and transforming lives. She also offers free eye care services to a local school for visually impaired children and actively raises awareness about the needs of the Albino community, particularly their access to sunscreen. Beyond her work, Dr. Gumiro is a proud wife, mother, and fitness enthusiast. At The Big Sister Session, she brings wisdom, warmth, and a powerful reminder that pursuing purpose can reshape your path at any stage.

Event Panelists

These included not distant role models, they were peers and fellow sisters in STEM walking a similar journey and facing the same hurdles. Each panelist brought lived experience, real stories and raw wisdom from the trenches of academia, innovation and early career growth. This panel was about shared realities, not polished perfection.

Claire Zvikomborero Duri

Claire Zvikomborero Duri is a tech entrepreneur at Clarity Smart Technologies, a Zimbabwean innovation hub building digital solutions across sectors like law, health, education and agriculture. A passionate advocate for youth empowerment, Claire teaches coding to children, mentors young women in STEM and leads initiatives that bridge technology with community impact. She holds a degree in Information Security and Assurance and has represented Zimbabwe at international tech events, including winning the CyberTech Africa Hackathon in Rwanda and being the chief Guest at Gameathons in India. Claire is deeply committed to using tech to transform lives and tell new stories from Africa.

Tanyaradzwa Kimberly Ndiyamba

Tanyaradzwa Ndiyamba is a public health advocate, pharmaceutical sciences researcher, and emerging global health innovator. She holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and is currently completing a Master of Pharmaceutical Science at Monash University. With experience in clinical trials, drug delivery research and global medicine quality assessment, Tanya is passionate about strengthening pharmaceutical systems and improving access to safe, effective medicines in low and middle income countries. She is currently completing a placement with the African Clinical Research Network (ACRN). Outside of academia, Tanya hosts a Christian podcast focused on transparent conversations about faith and life and runs a personal social media platform sharing her STEM career journey, lifestyle content and evidence-based health and wellness insights. She is passionate about advancing health literacy and representation, especially for young Black women pursuing careers in STEM.

Cheryl Mangisi

Cheryl Mangisi is a Civil Engineering Technician, currently working at a Minerals Processing Consultancy, where she applies her skills to real-world industrial and infrastructural projects. She works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that support operational efficiency and long-term sustainability. Her work allows her to contribute meaningful development while continuously learning and growing in the field of engineering. Cheryl is passionate about encouraging more young women to pursue careers in STEM, especially in engineering fields where female representation is still growing. She is committed to promoting hands-on learning and inspiring the next generation of women in science and technology.

Siphosami Musikavanhu

Siphosami Musikavanhu is a clinical research pharmacist and entrepreneur passionate about bridging science, innovation and everyday impact. With experience in global clinical trials spanning HIV, vaccines and malnutrition, she’s deeply committed to advancing healthcare solutions that resonate within African communities. As the founder of Vuka Skin, a science-led skincare brand, Siphosami blends her pharmaceutical expertise with her entrepreneurial spirit to create products that are both effective and accessible. Beyond her professional work, she’s a creative force who shares lifestyle and wellness content, embodying the belief that women in STEM can thrive in multiple spaces; from the lab to the boardroom to the digital space. Through her journey, she champions representation, resilience and boldness for the next generation of women in science and business.

Tinaye Lydia Muzenyi

Tinaye Lydia Muzenyi is the founder of the She STEMs Foundation and is currently pursuing her PhD in Civil Engineering. Inspired by the spirit of Ubuntu, she is passionate about creating spaces where girls and women in STEM feel seen, supported and motivated to dream bigger. Her passion for mentorship and representation in STEM drives Tinaye to work with young women as a mentor and volunteer as a part-time lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, where she teaches and supports final-year students. Tinaye is committed to making sure no girl or woman ever has to walk her STEM journey alone so through She STEMs, she intends to create spaces for girls and women to share real stories, build supportive networks and open doors for the next generation.
